Summary: The best day out.. EVER!!! ... With cheeese!
Comment: In the original escape of the three Wallace and Gromit epics, and in TJ's opinion possibly one of the best, we are introduced to their cheese fettish, and the marvals of plastacine space travel. Their (some might say) novice attempt at creating a rocket, can be viewed as a metaphor for male anatomy, and the life it creates thereafter. The emphasis on exploration is juxtaposed in a humorous setting through the personification of 'Gromit' - the dog, as he is given human characteristics and is genis behind the operation, although it is expected that 'Wallace' - the human would provide this, demonstrating the human flaw of always perceiving ourselves as the superiour species. The crimes and misdemeaners of Wallace and Gromit planning to steal the biggest souce of cheese the universe has ever known act, ironically provides a positive message for children as they are punished for this greed, noticably one of the seven deadly sins. The happy resolution is a typical convention of the childrens' genre as the characters return to their home planet with what they left for. Thoroughly enjoyable, a classic in plastacine animation!!

Summary: British animations best creation
Comment: Wallace & Gromit's first outing in the 'Grand Day Out' is in my opinion their best.Wallace is a single man who has a love for cheese, and has a smart dog called Gromit.
Well in this episode Wallace runs out of cheese while looking through travel brochures with Gromit, while looking for a holiday.
So where would be the best place to find cheese?-you guessed it, the moon.
Wallace builds a space craft to fly off to the moon in search of cheese, but many surprises come their way when they arrive...
Wallace & Gromit is well created, smartly put together and is excellent family fun to watch this animated comedy.

Summary: One to watch over and over again!
Comment: This is simply brilliant animation which kids and adults alike just love. Fully of subtlety and a really good storyline. If anything is better it can only be the other two Wallace and Gromit animations - "A Close Shave" and "The Wrong Trousers". Watch any of these and you'll be hooked for life!
