Customer Rating: Summary: poor Comment: The actual royal rumble match in itself was solid and a superb performance by stone cold who was set to dominate the industry after this for a while, also noteworthy is the entrance of a young wrestler called rocky maivia who would develop into the rock ,the single greatest thing that happened to wrestling in recent years, however this was 1997 and the wwf didnt have the talent that they would later have, they were chasing wcw and losing at this juncture and it showed, although i was always wwf, always, this has not aged well.
Staying with the actual royal rumble if i may,the dross that made its way to the ring at times was shameful, wrestlers that were never gonna have a wwe career,i didnt see the point in all the masked mexican wrestlers, about 5 of them made their way to the ring and once over the top,we never saw them again until the next royal rumble most likely, plus the way that those who featured in the undercard returned emphasised that the wwf did not have a locker room filled with talent,oh yes, before i forget, the introduction of fake razor ramons and diesels was a shame for the wwf, they were angry that the wcw took two of their best names and made poor clones and put them in the ring, that upset me greatly, noteworthy,it was the man who would become kane that portarayed diesel, shameful.
The undercard had dome good matches ,the main event with sid and shawn michaels was good, perhaps great!,the triple h and goldust match was ok althought it did show that goldust wasnt good enough, ahmed and faarooq put on a decent show and the vader vs undertaker match dragged a little but did the bill no harm.
This wasnt the wwfs strongest era but still they battled on and with this event they could easily have entered an era of average shows but they got better and in a few months after this survivor series took place and the montreal screw job occured when bret hart lost to hbk in a very fixed match and then the attitude era kinda kicked in.
Customer Rating: Summary: Classic Rumble Comment: Tatanka vs Bam Bam Bigelow (with Luna Vachon)
Good, solid match seeing the speed and agility of the Native American superstar taking on the size and strength of The Beast from The East.
Owen Hart and Bret Hart vs The Quebecers for the tag team gold
A lenghty match seeing Owen once again turning on his brother, the beginning of their long and gruelling feud.
Razor Ramon vs IRS for the Intercontinental championship
Will Razor retain his belt against the tax man?-good match with a surprise ending.
Yokuzuna vs Undertaker for the WWF championship
The big one-the casket match, which pits the Phenom against the 600-pound champion. A match which ends when Mr Fuji's men intefere, and the Undertaker is put in the casket, leaving a daunting message to viewers-HE WILL NOT REST IN PEACE.
The 30-men royal rumble
This is probably the best Rumble match there is, with superstars such as Bret Hart, Shawn Michels, Lex luger, Macho Man Randy Savage, Diesel, Crush, and even Doink the Clown.
The ending is a big surprise!

Customer Rating: Summary: "Wow" what an incrediable event. Comment: I remember viewing this event for the first time and I have to say it was spectacular, stunning tremendous, excellent, fantastc and compelling to say the least. The event two months before the highly anticipated wrestlemania and it defenitly did not dissapoint.
My favourite and highly recommended matches are WWF championship I Quit match. Mankind v. the rock. An absaloute brutal, savage, sadistic masochistic, very very violent match. The most disturbing part was not the violence. But the sheer horror of mick foleys family wittnessing there dad getting beaten to a bloody barbaric pulp. They truly must have been concerned and terrified and desensitised by the carnage. I know I was. Definetly not for the faint heart. However an incrediable event. one of the best the wwf has ever produced. Purchase while you can.
Customer Rating: Summary: i quit match!!!!!!!!! Comment: most of the matches in this event werent great but the royal rumble and a brutal i quit match between the rock and mankind for the wwf title was one of the most brutal matches in wwf history.

match #6:royal rumble match
9/10
entry #1: stone cold steve austin
entry #2:vince mcmahon
entry #30:chyna(first women ever to compete in the royal rumble match)
decent match despite the loss of stone cold steve austin and vince mcmahon during the match, nonetheless both men came back and were in the final two.
stone cold was beating the living hell out of vince until the rock came down to the ring, distracted stone cold and vince frew austin over the top rope!
