Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Great start to the Key to Time series. Comment: This is the first, and arguably, the best of the Key to Time series of Doctor Who. In it, the Doctor, K-9 and new assistant Romana are sent to the primitive planet Ribos, in order to obtain the first segment of the Key to Time - an all-powerful device which holds the universe in equilibrium. On their way they encounter the con-man Garron and his sidekick Unstoff, who are attempting to decieve the villainous Graf into buying a whole planet. Tom Baker is now into his fifth series as the fourth Doctor and gives an excellent performance. Iain Cuthbertson is superb as the likeable rogue Garron, while the Graf is a truly menacing villain. A special mention must go to Mary Tamm in her first appearance as Romana Mark 1. She makes a strong, memorable debut as the straight girl to Tom Baker's manic Doctor. The plot is very good, and the opening scenes in which the White Guardian appears to the Doctor are very well done. This is a strong opening story and it's a pity that the rest of the Key to Time series wasn't as good. Nevertheless, this is good viewing. Customer Rating: Summary: Ribos Operation Comment: The first in the key to time series and i think it is a great start aswell as the power of kroll, with the first apperance of the doctor's new companion Romana she and the doctor show a great likeness, but though they have their little tifts. Overall a great buy but you need the rest to understand the key to time series.
