Customer Rating: Summary: good yoga dvd but music very distracting Comment: I liked this dvd but found the music annoying. At times it was very hard to hear what Howard, who has a very pleasant, gentle voice, was saying as the music was quite loud. This was especially true when in those postures where your arms are tight to your ears eg downhead dog. Only way to hear was to turn it up, but then the music was quite piercing and not very relaxing at all. Sad because otherwise very nice.
Customer Rating: Summary: ...and relax! Comment: After reading other recommendations before buying this I knew this was a good start for beginners to Yoga (of which I am one). This is a fantastic video and the teacher makes you feel at ease and after each practice I feel relaxed yet revitalised. It's very easy to follow with a section at the end showing you easier versions of some techniques which I found very helpful.
Customer Rating: Summary: Disappointing Comment: We were very disappointed with this video. It doesn't explain each move clearly, they just appear in them without telling you how to get there! The man is very annoying wiggling his fingers all the time. His voice is quiet, which would be a good thing if it wasn't for the sea in the background. It would be better if Penny explained the benefits of each move before we do them rather than after. Barbara Currie is much better!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Brilliant!! Comment: I really enjoyed this introduction to Yoga. The man has such a calming voice you feel more relaxed after 5 minutes!! His explanantion of how to align your body is marvellous. I would recommend it to anyone.
Customer Rating: Summary: A fantastic introduction to yoga Comment: This is a fantastic introduction to anyone hoping to start practising yoga for the first time. As a complete beginner I found it easy to follow and was delighted to be able to keep up! The video/DVD gently takes you through a series of yoga positions including standing and sitting postures, shoulder balance, spinal twists and the Sun Salutation which can then be put together to provide a complete work out. I really like to way the video provides ideas for adapting these poses to specific needs and abilities and think that the list of health benefits and cautions is useful. A great video to get you started.
