Summary: Should have been a top-notch film.
Comment: This film is too short. It's a bare-bones of a movie that places technique above content.
We are given no time to get to know the characters, they're given no room to breathe, to become real. The film jumps from scene to scene, seemingly afraid to linger and let us identify with any of the characters.
Plot is everything here, though a good plot nonetheless. The diagogue tries too hard with a preponderence of smart-assed one-liners.
There are a lot of good moments in the film, but they are too often incidental to the characters or the storyline. Simply good ideas plonked into the film, that would have worked anywhere.
It is a great cast really well performed throughout.
There's a great movie hidden in there somewhere, it's a pity the makers didn't have the confidence to vary the pace and allow the viewer the time to "snuggle-up" to the characters. Shame really...
