Summary: A Disappointing Album, One Too Miss.
Comment: Sorry, but I have to say that I found this album disappointing and `wanting' in giving it a score of 3 I felt I was been overly generous. Over the years many artists have been fortunate enough to get a gold or platinum award that is however not to say that it was as deserving as one would expect. Of course everyone's tastes are different, but having seen his work on the Sky Classical channel I purchased the album, it didn't though live up to my expectations.
Like Sue, I believe Exodus is one of those tracks that have stood the test of time and if I were to choose one track from Maksim's album it would be Exodus and his rendition is not that bad, unfortunately though it cannot salvage the remainder of the album.
There is no doubting he has talent, his endeavours though are easily forgotten. For easy pleasurable listening I would favour the popular Richard Clayderman over Maksim, I understand he is not to everyone's taste but such is life. I will not be getting any other Maksim titles and if I can muster up the will I am intending to list my copy, as it is one I will not fancy playing in the future.
There are other more stable pianists worthy of your custom and my advice for what its worth is to give Maksim a wide berth, save your money for something better.

Summary: Amazing
Comment: I find this album amazing, it's good to just sit down and listen to music from an incredible musician.
In regards to the comment about Maksim "not being at all a genious" I would just like to say that for this album Maksim has achieved gold, platinum and double platinum status in various countries around the world and been number one in the international charts for 12 weeks, along with being one of classic fm's most requested artists and recieving 4 Porin awards (croatian grammys rarely awarded to classical artists).

Summary: Not brilliant, but should whet appetite for the real thing
Comment: It was classical music set to a pop beat (anyone remember Hooked on Classics?) that first led me many years ago on a voyage of discovery that continues to this day. Along the way, I discovered that the "real thing" is so much more pleasurable and stimulating than the "dumbed-down" pop-flavored versions. Maksim is a fine piano player, despite the Vanessa Mae-influenced beat (even the album's title echoes Vanessa's). So if others out there, like me, who never had the benefit of a formal classical music education, go on to seek out what classical piano is really about as a result of having heard Maksim, I say more power to him.

Summary: Fantastic! You will not be disapointed
Comment: Maksim is a fantatic Pianist, the CD is a joy to listen to.
Each track is backed with a modern upbeat style but the underlying piano skill is not lost.
With other classical music we enjoy listening to our children leave the room. With Maksim the children appear to enjoy listening too....Well done! I will definately add future Maksim work to my shopping list.

Summary: Not at all a genius.
Comment: Really, he is not a genius... His playing cannot even be compared to any great classical pianist like Vladimir Horowitz, Arthur Rubinstein, Claudio Arrau, etc. In 'Revolutionary' Etude,
his left-hand part is barely audible.Even in his music videos, he seems to be playing so hard yet it's so soft... And he practises for 6 over hours till his hands hurt, indicating wrong technique. Seriously, playing these pieces won't hurt your hand. I do play 'Revolutionary', In fact, many good pianists can(Not that I'm saying I'm good). He is really horrible. Do not buy this CD. If you don't believe you can try some samplers of Vladimir Horowitz playing Revolutionary on amazon.com... Flight of the Bumblebee was played half the original speed most pianists do...
