Customer Rating: Summary: Real planes Comment: This add on has got lots of planes, Missions, Campaigns and Spitfires with enough shots to destroy enough planes. This add on also includes Air raid sirens.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great value! Comment: I've just purchased this at £12.99 and am really glad I did. It adds a whole new chapter to cfs3, which I like a lot now I've got a pc that runs it at max detail (P4 - 2.8 ghz, 1024 RAM, 256 mb video card).
You get Spitfire 1A, Hurricane 1, Bf109E, Ju87B and the He.111H. There are several variants of each with differant skins (markings), including the early Hurricane 1 with the 2 bladed propellor. The add-on also makes good use of the stock Ju88.
The aircraft are stunningly good, with beautifully reproduced cockpits and sounds. You might have to turn up your weapons effectiveness to "strong" if your flying against bombers in the Spit or Hurrie though!
The missions actually start with the Battle of France in May 1940, which is an added bonus, as you get to fly over Dunkirk! There are 40 historical missions, 20 for each side. There is a useful manual too.
There is also a new dynamic campaign set in 1940, if you fly RAF you will have to defend Britain and the channel from the Luftwaffe, if you fly as a German its all about reducing the RAF and launching an invasion. You get a real feel of the battle with this game, and I found the sirens actually add to the atmosphere too!
Well worth getting, the Battle of Britain is the most famous air conflict in history, and was the only air battle that had a direct effect on the outcome of WW11.
Customer Rating: Summary: Gives CFS 3 a better selection of aircraft. Comment: This add on for Combat Flight Simulator gives it the Spitfire, Hurricane, Heinkel 111, bf109 and Stuka that were present in the battle of Britian and 'missing' from the Microsoft game (still no Dorniers or ME110's though). It also gives you 42 missions and the battle campaign. I am one of those gamers that like CFS 3 and, Overall, it has been an enjoyable addition to that game. The most annoying thing I have found so far is the air raid warning sirens that will NOT shut up! (you can even still hear them, just as loud as ever, at angels 10). If I can find a way to stop this racket it will be more enjoyable. Even so this is still good flying fun but it is little pricey.
