Summary: Allied missions start in the air.
Comment: I love IL2. I'm not sure that this is for me. I usually "fly" for the Allies, and here the allied (USA) fighter missions are either bomber defence, or ground attack.
I'm not keen on ground attack, or over heavy flak, and flak takes too many of your squadron on both sorts of mission in this. I particularly don't like losing squad mates who bail out over enemy territory. That generally happens in IL2, but there are missions over friendly territory in that, here, for the allies, there are none. At least, there are no missions over friendly territory early on, there may be later, but I don't think I'm going back to these careers.
If you "fly" for the Axis, or like flying bombers this may be for you, there are certainly some bigger heavy bomber formations than you see in Forgotten Battles or Pacific Fighters.
