Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome Comment: The works very well, I have tried lots of garlic presses in the past and this is the best one by far.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Very Good Garlic Press Comment: Bearing in mind there's probably no such thing as a 'perfect' garlic press, the Zyliss is one if the best I've used.
It really does allow cloves to be pressed without peeling and gets a very high proportion of the clove 'through'. However, this effectiveness especially with unpeeled cloves inevitably means the skins are tightly pressed in. So you have to fiddle a little to get them out, but no worse than many presses without a removable plate (I have one - but the Zyliss is still more efficient and robust). A tip - if you use a nylon washing brush on the reverse side, you can make short work of getting the skins out.
Customer Rating: Summary: Discovery of a lifetime! Comment: I really can not recommend this press highly enough!
I swore I'd never buy another garlic press because they usually need three cloves in, to get one out. In an ordinary press, Garlic usually squeezes upwards and they are murder to clean. I had resorted to smashing the cloves on a board with the side of a heavy Chinese knife, but this is noisy!
Peeling the cloves was also a messy bind.
Then it all changed. Along came this Zyliss press, and it does exactly what it says on the pack.
Don't peel the clove - just insert in the press and squeeze. When you open it, you can take out the skin, and most of the remains comes away with it. Very easy to clean, and no waste!
Customer Rating: Summary: long lasting Comment: I have had this for about five years and its only just broken it has come apart in the middle. Its discoloured a bit from being in the dishwasher a million times but other than that its been very good. The garlic peel comes off in one bit so its easy to throw away. I will be buying this again.
Customer Rating: Summary: As good as promised Comment: The best garlic press I've used. No peeling necessary and there is very little wasted garlic (some does stick to the peel). All of the peel comes out of the basket in one lump which makes it quick and easy to use.
The only negative is that if you do use it with unpeeled garlic then occassionally you will see tiny bits of peel in the pressed garlic. But really, there is very very little.
