Customer Rating: Summary: Couldn't be without it!! Comment: I bought mine at Christmas time and haven't boiled the kettle since. As a lover of green tea this gadget is superb as the water is at a perfect brewing temperature, also means you can drink your tea almost as soon as its ready rather than having to add cold water! As a keen cook I also find this quick and easy for making instant stock. 8 months on I've only used 3 filters ordering 4th today and looks as good as new. As for perfect coffee - buy a coffee machine!
Customer Rating: Summary: Continually breaks down Comment: An excellent idea which has totally failed in practice. My wife is disabled and finds a kettle hard to lift, so we thought this was the perfect solution. However, we are now on our third machine and that has broken down too. The first spat boiling water everywhere, the second just ceased to produce hot water after two weeks, and the third has done the same just three weeks later. We are going to ask for our money back.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not up to the job Comment: I foolishly didn't pay attention to the bad reviews here and bought it anyway, as it seemed such a good idea, which it is, but it doesn't work properly. It does warm up water but not to the heat you need for a good cup of tea or coffee, and in fact over the month I've been using it it's got progressively cooler until today its making luke warm tea that is undrinkable. After giving it a go for a month, trying to convince myself its ok - as the speed is handy - I've finally given up and gone back to my kettle, a real waste of money - shame.
Customer Rating: Summary: Top tea! Comment: Well, as a herbal tea drinker I was worried about all the bad reviews but wanted to try as my impairment means I am unable to fill or tip a conventional kettle.
The good points are the fact that the water is filtered as it's used, the kettle gives you both hot and cold water, it is almost silent, it saves lots of energy as it doesn't need boiling, the hot water button gives you a full cup in just one touch and it does look kinda funky!
Ok, so we all know the kettle doesn't boil water. But really, if you wanted boiling water, why did you buy it? It does what it says, as far as I am concerned, by giving hot water in seconds. It's response time is with in 3-5 seconds, and the water is about 90dc. It makes a great cup of herbal tea that you can drink almost straight away.
The only thing that some people might consider a down point would be that the tea does cool sooner than usual (from a boiling kettle). I don't consider this a down point as I enjoy cold tea also.
Over all I am very impressed. Personally it means I can use it independently but other than that this kettle delivered everything it said it would whilst looking great and saving me money!
Try it, you might be pleasantly surprised!
Customer Rating: Summary: Do not buy this absolutly useless machine! Comment: The Tefal Quick-cup is the biggest waste of space ever!
The water is only ever luke warm at best and therefore any coffee or tea you make will be utterly un-drinkable.
If you do insist on buying this product, then please ensure you have enough space at the very back of your cupboard for it, and enough money left over to buy a propper kettle!
