Summary: Rule Britannia!!!
Comment: An amalgamation of the crosses of St. George, St. Patrick and St. Andrew, the Union Jack is a poignant symbol of the unwavering equality that exists between each and every one of the countries that make up the United Kingdom (except for Wales). As citizens of the British Empire we should be unashamed to display our noble colours with pride and dignity! With the aid of an improvised flag-pole (fashioned from a slightly rotten length of bamboo that had been floating in the canal) we were able to hoist this great symbol high above the Redhart home. It was recently flown throughout the entire duration of the recent Beijing games (except for that unfortunate day on which it was lowered to half-mast as a mark of respect- after Doreen accidentally trod on Dawn's chinchilla).
Doreen also decided to dye her (rather substantial) box-garden the colours of the Union Jack, in order to show her sheer commitment to supporting our country's athletes. Had you caught a sneaky glimpse, during those two weeks, you honestly wouldn't have believed the appearance of her nether regions! Indeed, it's a real pity that she didn't follow the instructions to the letter and start by testing a small patch of skin for allergic reactions...
