Summary: Disappointed
Comment: Bitdefender has a good reputation but unfortunately I have had several problems with this product. First, it doesn't seem to easily coexist with my 3rd party anti-spyware product which I have had to switch off. Secondly, I have also found it to be unstable and it crashed again today, which prompted this review. Thirdly, the interface sometimes doesn't seem to respond when I try to click on the buttons. I hope that other people have had a better experience but I am sorry that I switched from my previous antivirus product.

Summary: Fantastic, Easy Install, Update and it works great!
Comment: I already have a firewall on my router so this was perfect for the antivirus side of things, easy install in just a short time, no problems like the other user has spoken of, so gather its just a user error or being incorrectly sold or did not read the instructions.
Stick a schedule on so you dont have to worry about it slowing down your pc unexpectedly, even though saying that I've been watching movies or playing games and it has not done that even when performing deep scans.
Updates no problem and have not noticed anything slowing down at any point either.
So all good thanks bitdefender, I will be back next year to get the new one.

Summary: Beware
Comment: I purchased this product because of the excellent reviews. However i would suggest that anyone buying this product should beware of the following problems. On page two of the Users Guide under Installation it says that Bitdefender Antivirus 2008 ALERTS you if you have other antivirus products installed on your computer, and goes onto say Click REMOVE to uninstall the corresponding product. In my case this did not happen. What Bitdefender did say was that it wished to DELETE my Firewall, to which i said no. I assumed it would ask me to remove my other Antivirus software and it did not. The end result was that Bitdefender continued to load the result being that my whole system came to a halt. Nothing would move, the cursor would not respond, i could not even shut down using the keyboard. All in all Bitdefender damaged my computer. I was unable to remove the product from my computer ending in me having to do a FULL RESTORE with the original factory disks that came with the system.
The bottom line is that i would not go near this product ever again, as for anyone else all i would say is in view of what happened to me, BEWARE.
I did contact Bitdefender to ask for advice and guess what, I am still waiting for a reply.
