Customer Rating: Summary: Good piece of mind if you have the money Comment: Okay, I am new to photography and while editing my photos I wanted to ensure that all my colours on my main PC and my laptops are the same.
I installed the software and went through the relatively simple calibration procedure awaiting radical results. On my Dell 2407-HC (with all settings at factory defaults) the result was a slight ly darker look with deeper blacks. Interesting but not drastic. I the did the same procedure on 2 laptops and had the same subtle difference even though the screens all look very different.
As a result I am feeling like I have wasted my money somewhat - but have got the peice of mind (sort of) that I was lacking.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best value easy to use device Comment: As a replacement for the Spyder Pro 2 this is a fine product. Easy to use and creating quick and accurate calibration on TTF monitors. The Spyder 2 was great on CRT's but weaker on TTF, this upgrade has made the difference. Very easy to use and quick.
Customer Rating: Summary: How to waste over £400 Comment: With the cost of replenishing the ink for my Canon printer being over £50 and A4 prints over a pound a time!
I thought I could save myself some money by calibrating my monitor and printer.
So I purchased SpyderPro3, thinking that it would contain software to calibrate the printer no such luck.
After all whats the point of just having pretty colors on your monitor, it's what comes out of the printer that really matters!
So I decided to go the whole hog and buy Spyder3Print, you would think for the money it would come with a proper case to protect your investment it doesn't.
You would think it would have a manual that a complete novice like myself could peruse at one's leisure, with step by step instructions and illustrations to help guide through the process, it doesen't it has online help which personnaly I hate as you are constantly going backwards and forewards on the screen.
But what really annoys me is that after calibration, and you are not happy with the result it doesn't explain how to correct things.
I would advise anyone who want's to calbrate their monitor and printer to check blog's on the internet as regards to the best kit.
The X-Rite Munki which calibrates both monitors and printers has had good reviews ,I would liked to have bought one but I already had the SpyderPro3.
With a proper manual or better still a DVD included in the kit, it would make it easier for technophobes like me to use.
But as it is I would advise anyone who like myself has trouble using the TV remote to buy this setup as a last resort.
