Customer Rating: Summary: Superb! Comment: I bought four of these little lights for the staircase; and, having just received and tested them, I'll be getting 4 more. Simply brilliant - it provides a light of about 15W (my guess), and the sensor works to about 4m distance and about 45 degree angle.
I'm also getting some 1000mAh rechargable batteries - beats wiring and fiddly and unreliable low-voltage spotlights, in my humble view.
Buy with confidence - well done, Philips!
Customer Rating: Summary: Good but... Comment: Yes, it's great that it turns on automatically when it detects motion but why oh why could Philips not gone the extra yard and made it disable itself when it's not dark??? It comes on all day long regardless of the ambient light and wastes the batteries!
Customer Rating: Summary: Pretty good but... Comment: Using 3 AAA batteries (included), the white leds are pretty bright. The unit is very compact and can be wall mounted with the included doubled side sticky pad or screws. It can stand on a flat surface but isn't as stable as I'd like.
It comes on when it senses movement and off after 15 seconds.
I took a star off cos it turns on even during daylight, while the led means it has very low power consumption, the AAA are not cheap and have limited capacity. I think Philips should have built some logic in it to only turn on only when it's dark.
You may say that's too much to ask for from a £6 unit, but I have a Masterplug LED light that cost £5 that can do just that and more. Shame it's now discontinued.
Customer Rating: Summary: A life saver Comment: Ever since I have these Philips sensor lights installed in my a bit too dark staircase to the basement, I am no longer afraid to stumble and fall. These lights are very reliable, very bright and - in comparison to the original product by Osram - you can change batteries without detaching the whole thing by cutting off the sticker behind. Philips' sophisticated solution provides a small backplate with magnets. But these magnets are not holding the light on a metal wall: you can rather either glue or screw this backplate on any wall and only then attach the spotlight to the plate with the magnets. Absolutely clever!
Customer Rating: Summary: Spot on Comment: A well made piece of kit that does exactly what it is supposed to. For instant illumination in a small cupboard or corner, at a low price and with zero fitting problems, you would be very hard pushed to find a better product.
